Project Found Sound: Students for the Environment - Events
Project Found Sound: Students for the Environment is an innovative & creative education program. It utilizes found objects for the construction of musical instruments, fashion design, art exhibits along with documentary filmmaking & science research. Its goal is to further the advancement of reusing as a daily way of life, at the same time aiding in the personal growth of students.
Creating the work.
Students will be divided up into 5 groups: music, art, fashion, film & science.
Music. The development & construction of musical instruments from found objects to be exhibited & used in the creation of songs to be performed at community events, school assemblies & city sponsored concerts.
Art. The creation of a traveling exhibit made from recycled materials will be displayed throughout the school district, city buildings & libraries.
Fashion. Designing outfits made from found objects for fashion shows, traveling art exhibits & the musician's performances.
Film. Filming & editing a 2-5 minute short documentary capturing the creation process of the program or a PSA about the environment.
Science Research Paper. A short written report on the environment that includes the students conclusions & creative ideas. This report will be presented before the screening of films, performances & the fashion show.
Students will be presenting their work at local schools & community events. Its goal is to educate & bring new meaning to creativity as it pertains to the environment.
